I quit smoking way back in 1983 but got the sudden urge to buy a pack of smokes with my beer today.
First of all..... holy crap. The last time I bought a pack it was $3.25
I coudn't believe it when the guy said $10.50. And it this was just a miniature pack of 20.
Secondly...I got home and went down memory lane struggling like hell to get the thing open.
Last but not least, I lit up and took a toke....
Holy crud.... the taste was identical to the first time I ever smoked.
I tried inhaling and coughed my guts out so I too it easier.
Talk about gross. I couldn't catch my breath just walking up stairs....
But my old habits suddenly kicked in, like flicking the ashes in the ashtray.
No more smokes for another ten years.... blech...

ha.....when you said the last time they were $3.25 I thought you must be smoking something other than tobacco! Then I realized where you live. Here is the US they are around $3.25 to $3.75 a pack.

Ha. So you understand how i feel about smoking in general.
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

$5 here in Jersey, the cheapest I've seen are off brands for 3 something. It depends on where you live in the us cause of the varying state tax. My brother smokes and every now and then he goes down to Deleware to get a couple cartons for $10 or $20.
I tried smoking a few times and its gross and pointless.

Its weird though, I do like the smell of tobacco though as well as the smell of the smoke (especially a fresh lit one), and since my parents use to smoke, I'm immune to second hand smoke.
Whenever I go riding at this one pit we usually go to, theres always some douchbag who rides with only goggles and has a cig in his mouth (sometimes its my bro.) And everytime I'm like, "Look at the cool guy."

Today is day 52 without one for me. Watch taking that "1" cigarette. I had stopped smoking for 3 years a while back and had that "1" cigarette and it was like I didn't miss abeat. :(
I 'do' enjoy smoking, but I don't like the smell on my clothes and of course the health issues. :o

I'm about half way through the pack. Now I get why I quit.
I feel guilty as hell and and nautious after every one.
I'm still getting that taste I used to get when I first started though.
So it kinda brings back memories.
After this I'm finished though. God... 10 buck for smoke. What a waste.
I coulda bought a pack of strings.
Smoking doesn't make ya look cool either. When I see a girl smoke it grosses me out and I totally lose respect for her. Would'nt date a smoker either.

My New Years resolution was to start smoking. I've tried to start a few times since then, but have been unsuccessful so far. I bought some of those patches and some nicotine gum to try to work my way up to it, but that hasn't worked either. I guess I just don't have the willpower to start.
