I was just wondering what other instruments members might play. My list is kinda long and always getting longer. I've played these in bands at one time or another and still try to make improvements.

Clarinet
Saxaphone (Alto and Tenor)
Flute
Banjo
Keyboards
Drums
Cello

Wanna get a....

Oboe
Bassoon
French Horn
Bagpipe

Do we have any other multi-instrumentalists?

I'm not talking about virtuosity here, just the ability to play songs and scales and such

I played the trumpet in school. And have messed around on drums although I found it hard to play a good scale on them :) . I play a little keyboard I know my scales fairly well on the keyboard they are laid out so easily.

I can play bass. I also fool around with piano, mandolin, and drums. I think I know a few chords on banjo, too.

I could figure out any stringed instrument somewhat, I think.

I can barely play the guitar! I can't imagine even trying to learn something else. My tiny brain would turn dying star and implode! However; I do play my stereo too loud, I do 'play the field' and I do play a doctor on TV. Okay, okay, I don't really play a doctor on TV but I could if I really wanted to... :D

I think I could figure out pretty much any stringed instrument or keyboard type thing. I suck at piano/keyboard but I know how to work it anyway. As far as drums, I can't play any kind of drum that requires the use of more than two of my appendages moving at a time, haha.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

I just started playing the keyboard/piano a bit... nothing fancy.

Other than that I play baseball, basketball, football, video games, and girls....... and drinking games... lots and lots of drinking games. Mostly beer pong, kings, screw the dealer, asshole, edward 40 hands, beer>water, keg/case races, etc... etc...

Lets see....

Trombone
Baritone
Little bit of drums

Thats about it, or that I've really gave an honest try anyways. Trombone was at one time my most proficient instrument. I haven't picked it up in a couple years though, so I'm sure I'm a bit rusty.

Not like on guitar... I kick butt on drums... I haven't played in a while but I'm pretty good at them.

I would love to play bass but 5 or 6 string... big bad badabum... :D

Other than the guitar, I'm a pretty decent drummer, and I play the cello to relax.... and it seem to impress the girls... :D

I play very bad piano as well, somehow my ability on guitar doesn't translate in that direction at all... That's one I'd like to be better at, but I guess not enough to spend the time doing it...

I think there was a thread about this before...
Anyhow, I play trumpet and drums.
But, that is not much to brague about...I think any gitarist a little further down the road can play almost any fretted instrument.Myself, I play mandolin
and a tone of Croatian folk instrumenst who are all fretted.Hey, did you know that Leo Fender came up with a design of a stratocaster after seeing a Croatian band with their folk instruments?Tabmure, that"s what it is called. The instruments.Hehehehe.It is on a fender site, check it out.Hehe.
Now, that is something to be proud of...also, the neck tie and pen comes from Croatia.Hehe.Nyhowz, back to the topic.Any good guitarist can play fretted insturments of all sort...Took me two days to learn bugarija, that is a sort of folk instrument that tunes in D.No biggie. Also, since I play a trumpet, transition to trombone or tenor would be no problem.Pretty much all winded instruments that are mettal (can"t explain it better, don"t know the english word for the thing you press on your lips when playing a trumpet) are just slightly different.Same goes for wooden wind instruments.A good clarinetist would play a sax in a breeze.Vice versa is a bit harder, but it can be achieved in a short period of time.I think all of you guys that play wind instruments will second me.
So, playing an instrument somewhat similar to the one you are already good at is not such a great achievement. At least I think so.
Never tried to play banjo, though.I was wondering about that.I have seen one in the music shop, but haven"t had the time to try it.I noticed that it has four strings all the way through the lenght of neck, and one that goes just about 3/4 of neck and tune there. Why is that??

P.S. Decided not to go to Irak...My girl stopped me...Maybe I will curse her for it, but...Staying.

I just play guitar, synth guitar (Roland Hexaphonic pickup and guitar synth floor unit) and dabble in some prgramming and samples (I prefer so hardware to software, so I mostly uses my Korg Electribe Esx1...but I also play around on Reason etc...

I played classical piano for eleven years (I started when I was five) and six months of jazz piano, then dropped it, and haven't touched it in two years - so I remember all the theory and the notes and chords, but I can't play a single damn piece! :o

I also play bass, and I have a rough idea of how to use synths and samplers, but what I'd really love to learn is the trumpet. I might take lessons at uni, if that's possible. I can also sing well enough to hold a tune, but I'd like to take some formal lessons in that as well.

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.
