The second semester of my final year of high school begins tomorrow, and I still haven't really made up my mind what classes I'm going to take. I'm taking a writing class, as well as Spanish (which is a year-long course, so I'm obliged to), but I can't decide whether I want to take Consumer Math or Biology 40S.

Consumer is basically useful math. It's like, learning how to do taxes and learning how financing works and stuff. Real-life math. It's also very easy, and I like the teacher a lot. The main thing against it is that I already have my Pre-Calc credit for grade 12, so I don't really need another math credit.

Biology is interesting stuff, but I just hate the class. The work is so....dumb. Drawing concept webs and whatnot, as if it were grade goddamn seven. It's ridiculous. The only thing is, I don't want to get to University, try to take some course, then have some guy say "oh, you need your Bio 40S credit for that."

I'd take Bio just to be safe, but if I choose not to take Bio, I could sleep in an extra hour.

Vote, please.

I picked Bio for you. It's not the most fun choice but probably the smart one :(

I'm all about the extra hour of sleep. But if you REALLY like the teacher I'd go for that. A good teacher makes a hella difference. PEACE.

It pretty much comes down to whether you need the credits or not. I picked bio cause to me, its more intresting stuff and I had a lot of fun in my bio class. And, you get to cut stuff open.

If your worried about getting credits or haveing a high GPA, then I'd go with the class that will be easier to pass. My senior year I had the chance to take anatomy and a business math class (similar to your math class) and wouldn't have to pass either of them to graduate. I didn't try that hard in either class, but I did pay attention and since me and my friends were always goofing around, it turned out to be great times. The only time I would do homework was if I had time to do it in my study hall class (free time.do whatever you want for 40 mins) or if I copied from someone else before a class. My Bus math teacher knew 60% of her students hw was copied from 1 student since we all copied from someone during our Vending class (since anyone who took Vending conincidently had bud. math.) She thought it was hilarious, mainly cause she knew the most of the students didn't need the class to graduate.

I'm leaning towards Consumer, myself. Three reasons:

- It's an easy, useful course
- It would mean I won't have to take bio :)
- I already have to be at school for Technical Writing and Spanish; if I don't take Consumer, I'll have an hour to kill between the two, and I wouldn't really have anything to do in that time

I picked bio, because it will make me happy to see your lazy ass in school first thing in the morning. I think you should take both of them though, really. They're both frickin' easy.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

i voted for u to take consumer math. it sounds like a good practical course. u cant underestimate the importance of knowing how taxes and such work. the more u know as a consumer, the less the seller can screw you!

I voted for Bio...

Well cos you said you already got the credits for math or something...

Even if you hate Bio, try it out u know. Give it a chance....

You know, even if you think it may not be neccessary, maybe one day along the line it may be important.

Well you got Math credits already. Maybe Bio would help your resume to be a bit better :p

But hey, dont listen to me... Im just a dumb fool with no future in life

I voted Bio.... just because I can't possibly give you the easy option and an hour extra in bed...

Bear in mind that if you know consumer math is very easy, the guy doing the admissions at the university will know too...

I voted for Math.. because you have a better chance of using it in your future and it being useful.

Deus ex machina!

School was called off today because it's ridiculously cold and potentially harmful to make us go.

So anyhow, six hours left on the poll.

Haha, lucky. Its 12 here with a wind chill in the negatives and I still had to go to college, not that I mind, I have a pretty fun week. How bad is it up there.

Seems like Bio is taking the lead...but I went with math. And seems to me that's the class you want to take anyways, judging from your initial post. Deal with pre-requisites when you get there. Besides...I think that kinda info is really useful, at least more so than how mitochondria help replication.

The poll was closed at bio-10 so I edited in my vote. :D The world needs more scientists.

At its worst, it was like -50 C with the windchill. That's like....-58 F.

As for the courses.....it seems bio has won. However, I am overruling democracy in favour of my own interests. Rustee has convinced me; I can't think of any course I'd want to take that would need Bio as a prerequisite. I don't plan on being a vet or anything. Consumer, on the other hand, is useful no matter what your job is.

Plus, this way I get to spite Michael and sleep in.

Thanks for your votes, all. You gave me lots to consider.

Consumer math shoudl be man... everyone I know that has a bussines complaints bout not having that knowledge.

Bio... damn, let's face it, if you need that for you field of work... get that but the consumer math seems like the most usefull knowlefge there is right now.

Haha, and I think 9*F with a -4*F windchill is bad.
