Alright which and what is better for what style? Why?

Personally I'd go w/ Humbuckers because I'm more of a jazz/blues guitar player, but totally respect SingleCoils, no doubt. Just want to see everyone's feedback!

I like both for different applications. I prefer the single coil sound most of the time. There's something more than just 60 cycle hum that's lost when you use humbuckers. Humbuckers are great for heavier stuff though, or when you want a really thick sound.

Humbuckers are excellent when used with distortion for that heavy sound.
If you are using digital recording software , single coils are better - humbuckers are too powerfull.
if you always take the lazy route

I infinitely prefer single-coils, although I agree that a humbucker sound is cool for jazz - but then again, so is the middle pickup on a Strat :D. I really love the way that single-coils can bring out the harmonics in your attack.

I don't separate 'buckers and single-coils by style. It's more a matter of what sound I want for a particular song. Humbuckers can take up a lot of room in the mix. That may be a good thing, or not. Sometimes a responsive, articulate, single-coil tone is the only thing that works.

I've always been a Bucker kinda guy. They've just always suited my playing style better tha singles. I've always loved how singles sound, but just never have been able to make them sound like I want when playing them with my own hands. That is, until now... I just got myself a new "upgraded" Fender MIM Tele, and let me tell you... this bad boy screams! The bridge pickup sounds alost as fat as a bucker, but it has a nice sharpness that really cuts, that you can't get out of bucker. The neck lipstick single is pretty darn good too. Middle position has one of the sweetest clean tones I've heard, and some nice quackyish overdriven tones. Overall, I have been blown away by this guitar. I've been playing everything from blues to chugga chug metal, and it hasn't slacked up one bit!

Like LATS said, it just depends on what type of tone you're going for. They're both fairly well suited for all styles. Just depends on the guitarist, and they're tone preferences

Well first and foremost for me nothing beats gettin down and dirty with the blues...and the screamin tone i get from my strat with some texas specials or some fender custom shop 69's make just melt my ears...my favorite players SRV, hendrix, clapton in the latter days, all excellent players dig the singles, but then again i love clapton when he was swingin bucker axes, jimmy page with his lp, b.b. king w/ his lucille, honestly it's the man behind the axe that truely makes the sound and not vice versa! But when my hands grace a strat it just feels right...So with that said i guess its more a question of what sounds best with you makin the noise...just in my honest opinion ;)

i love the sound of both just depends what you want, i find humbuckers too harsh for some things and single coils too smooth for others

I'm thinking of replacing my Epiphone's Seymour Duncans for the 57 classic Humbuckers, I don't know if the pickup is for the neck or the bridge, or do they have both?

gogogo is dead on. It's the person behind the axe. That being said, I prefer singles because of that "hollow" woody sound that you can't seem to get with hb's. The also seem to be more clear and chimey. Add a little tube screamer and you can really grind as well.

Personally, I'm a single coil fan,(Specially my SRV custom Fender Texas Pups Amazing!) and well, a lot of my favorite guitarists are too (Hendrix, Gilmour, Clapton, Unfortunatly Page was not later on, Brian May)
