Here's a little something I came up with the other day, and just couldn't do it justice with any lead. So, I sent it to Akira, and told him he's got an hour to come up with some lead for it. I was only joking of course, but sure enough, in just about an hour he sent his lead part to me. That's the reasoning for the title of the song. We weren't tryint to be perfect or technical or anything, just having fun. Hope you enjoy it, and let us know what you think.

Dude...!.!...!....
akira is some spontaneous (yea thats correct spelling) lead freak. the rhythm is cool but i wish i can hear it better. akira's like hogging the stuff.
i hope that was constructive and critisismic.

Intro excellent!! I like the melody line that starts the song off.. the backing guitars sound great with the lead line over em .. dont be afriad to stop the solo from time to time to let the rhythm section come through..vibrato needs a bit of work bud.. 1:32 is awsome and then the solo goes back to the intro which is a nice touch to finish the song.. over all fantastic work by both of you!!

Thanks for the compliments. I think the mix between rhythm and lead sounds just right, but thanks for your opinion anyway.
Also, thank you for pointing out that I misspelled the word "spontanious". That means a lot that you would take the time to correct my incorrect spelling of a word on an internet forum. While we're at it.. yea should be spelled yeah, and critisismic is not even a word. I think the word you possibly meant to use was critical.
Again, thank you for putting forth the effort to making GT a more grammatically correct forum.

Feel free to comment, just don't be a douche about it by correcting people's spelling errors or by always trying to one up them. People really hate that you know.

Thanks for the compliments! Akira's timing might actually be my fault. I had to line up the lead track that he send with my rythm tracks, so I might have gotten off a bit.
As for my tone, I was going for a "Brown Sound" type tone, but not looking to copy the famous one, as it doesn't work with my playing technique that great. So, I got close, and then made it fit my style. Here's how my signal chain went...
Yamaha AES620 guitar ---> MXR 6-band EQ ---> MXR ZW-44 overdrive ---> Peavey Rockmaster preamp w/ JJ & Jan Phillips tubes, set to the crunch channel on the low gain setting ---> PODxt for cabinet & mic simulation only, everything else was bypassed ---> Behringer DEQ2496 digital EQ ---> PreSonus Firebox soundcard ---> Laptop ---> Sonar Producers edition (recording software) ---> Nomad's Blue Tube midrange EQ plugin
After tracking was done, I copied the rythm track, panned the original about 65% left, and the copy 100% right. I then added reverb to the cloned track and maxed it's level, so all you hear is the reverb.

Woops, missed this thread. Colabs are always interesting. Akira: yer getting better with every post. I liked the tremelo'd sustain myself. And of course, great rythym as always Eric.

That was great. I loved both the rhythm and lead, Nicely Done

Great work for such a short period of time! I like the tone too, only minor EQ tweaking needed IMO. Man I love that Wah, got to get one of those Morley's - thinking about introducing it to the arsenal, have never used one before. PRS - nice tight rhythm track as always

Thanks a lot! Yeah, it could use a bit more mixing, but I really didn't spend a whole lot of time on it in the first place. It pretty much went from... "hey this is a cool idea"... to.. "wham bam thank ya ma'am", and it was done. lol

Thanks bud!
I would be glad to set it up, if anyone else would like to use it for next months backing track. This take was done at a half step down, so I'll redo it in standard for everyone else's sake lol.
