Thanks for the compliments! Akira's timing might actually be my fault. I had to line up the lead track that he send with my rythm tracks, so I might have gotten off a bit.
As for my tone, I was going for a "Brown Sound" type tone, but not looking to copy the famous one, as it doesn't work with my playing technique that great. So, I got close, and then made it fit my style. Here's how my signal chain went...
Yamaha AES620 guitar ---> MXR 6-band EQ ---> MXR ZW-44 overdrive ---> Peavey Rockmaster preamp w/ JJ & Jan Phillips tubes, set to the crunch channel on the low gain setting ---> PODxt for cabinet & mic simulation only, everything else was bypassed ---> Behringer DEQ2496 digital EQ ---> PreSonus Firebox soundcard ---> Laptop ---> Sonar Producers edition (recording software) ---> Nomad's Blue Tube midrange EQ plugin
After tracking was done, I copied the rythm track, panned the original about 65% left, and the copy 100% right. I then added reverb to the cloned track and maxed it's level, so all you hear is the reverb.
