Back in the day it was pretty much just wah and fuzz. An Arbiter Fuzz Face or a Big Muff were the most likely stomp boxes, with a Vox or Dunlop wah. Electro-Harmonix had some strange things available then, but they were considered to be 'gimmicky' by most. Most of the effects were studio tricks applied after the tracks were recorded.

I'd also go with a delay/reverb pedal and something that will emulate a rotary speaker. If you have a hardtail guitar, maybe a tremolo pedal as well. But I think the best option, like it or not, is probably a nice multiple-effects unit. It makes effects modelling much easier - and it's also better value. :)

1. What is the best thing to emulate a rotary speaker
2. Best amp for it
3. What kind of delay
just had alook at vox ac30 custom classic are they any good i know the original was brilliant but hpw bout them ones also no mid control whats up with that are bass and treble more important in shaping your sound
