I'd also go with a delay/reverb pedal and something that will emulate a rotary speaker. If you have a hardtail guitar, maybe a tremolo pedal as well. But I think the best option, like it or not, is probably a nice multiple-effects unit. It makes effects modelling much easier - and it's also better value. :)
