An SL2H with spalted maple top. Ebony fngrbrd, and a 5 way pickup switch that can access single coils too with the split coils.

I just basically like any guitar that feels good and sounds good. I dont really care on brands. I just liked the Soloist cause of the shape. More edge-ier than the strat and neck thru. Other than that, a Gibson exporer shaped body is my favorite looking guitar.

Nothing beats a semi-hollow for tonal and aesthetic beauty.

personally, I love my guitar. I would change out the bridge pickup, but I'll wait until I have switched the pickups on my cheap guitar to be sure I know what I'm doing before I attempt it on my gibson.

I don't think I'll ever buy any mass produced guitar over $1500. If I'm spending that kind of dough, I'll get one custom made.

that said, I really love the way PRS guitars look (never tried one out, they always seem to put them on the top shelf at the guitar stores, and I'm too embarressed to ask to try it out with no intention of buying it.

And I'd also like to own a V one day. The Dave Mustaine signature appeals to me, but I like the gibson V's too. I'm not a huge fan of the Jackson V's though. But I like the tone of most Jackson's I've played.

I am also a wood finish man like Nijie...have to see a nice grain...I love flamed maple, but my pride and joy is my quilted maple-topped Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 artist package...its also my dream guitar incidentally...so glad I own it.

I wouldnt mind a Nathan Sheppard Nsg2, a Black Machine 8 string, a Nik Huber Orca, or Dolphin...want all of those...

also a Tom Anderson Drop Top and a nice Suhr, Melancon or Valley Arts...all along similar lines in terms or manufacturers...I want some more nice classy guitars.

My dream guitar is one that I designed myself. It's basically a combination of 3 guitars... a PRS Custom 22, a Gibson Les Paul, and a Tele. I'm not going to go into all the specific details, as I don't want anybody stealing my exact idea. But, just know, this is going to be one hell of a tone monster once I have it built.

Wow, I seem to have that effect on a lot of people.

On topic, I saw a Lackland Skyline Hollowbody Bass in a magazine and that thing is awesome. Sounds like it has an amazing sound, and it doesn't even look like crap!

I doubt I'll build it myself, but I will have it built for myself one day.

Cool!
What would be your ideal neck measurements for that thing?

Similar to my PRS wide fat neck.

Oooh, yes, the Wide fat Prs neck is the most comfortable I have ever played, except maybe a Nick Huber neck (have you seen those things? there is like a deep contour on the neck itself, on the higher side, as the neck joins the body...do you guys understand what I am talking about?...anyway, its so comfortable and smooth...almost too easy to play.)
