I suppose there must have been a thread like this before, but I'd be interested to know what everybody's dream guitar is.

Mine changes regularly! At the moment, it's a Yamaha SA2200.

I haven't really tried out a lot of different guitars, so I'm going purely by looks. Mine is currently a Jazzmaster.

I don't have a dream guitar, as I haven't tried enough to make an informed decision on that. My dream guitar is a guitar that sounds better than any other, is comfortable to play, and after that looks good. Price doesn't matter, I would pay any money for a dream guitar like that. When I find this guitar I'll be sure to let you know.

Although naturally a Gibson Les Paul is high on the list. ;)

Well some of those Dean HardTails are looking pretty sweet. No idea what they sound like though.

I've heard that they sound okay, but I can't stand the look of Dean Guitars - that bloody ugly headstock ruins it all for me. And their "X"-shaped guitars...

I saw a HardTail in a Guitar World ad, I liked it a lot. It was blue and next to some woman with erect nipples

they also are horrible to play sitting, IMO.

as for me. I would probably say the shred guitar i would want would either be a JEM or the Jackson soloist. the clean/everything else guitar Id want probably a PRS.

I don't know much about Jackson's but when I went to Long and McQuade I saw a bunch of them and they all seemed to encompass everything I hate about "cool" guitars. They were ridiculously shaped and had graphics of skulls and women all over them. Maybe they sound good but I would never want to be seen playing something that ridiculous, especially when it's intended to be taken seriously.

An original '57 Stratocaster.... mmmmmm. In either surf green or fiesta red... both were rare colors... But as for now... I suppose I'm pretty content with my Custom American Stratocaster... since I put a lot of time into customizing it... If I weren't allowed to choose a vintage guitar or a Strat.... I would say a PRS Private Stock Single Cut in Ebony..........

the Ibanez JS1000 is still my baby :D unfortunately it's way expensive and I don't have it! I love the colors, they shape, the sound, everything!

can't say much more about those high-prised guitars cause I'm not playing on them, or trying them out, or even able to hear the difference :p

It isn't that I don't like a crazy paint job, just not one that's supposed to be cool by fitting some ridiculous image. I agree a crazy randomized paint job would be great, or even just some cool pattern or design.

I actually like the paintjob on Akira's guitar - it's just the ugly headstock that I don't like! What is it with shred/metal guitars and ugly headstocks?
