So is there anybody who has played a dance? If so what do you find gets the crowd up? Keep the ideas coming guys.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

You should play the new Modest Mouse tunes, a lot of people like those. I like the old ones... but that's just me.

these are both slower but they are great for the guys who dono how to dace and just wana make a move already.
"Rock you like a hurricane"-kansas, the rhythme is pretty simple
but the lead is a bit tricky, well at least for it was.
Deep Purple - "Smoke on the water"
i would play some sort of funk song, i cant think of one off the top of my head, but "higher ground" by stevie wonder is great. Clapton does a guitar version of it. I think that would go amazing.
When it comes down to it, our guitar's will always be there for us.

kaiser cheifs

Modern rock is a surefire hit.
I stand firm on the Franze Ferdinand dancibility.

Yeah, good idea! Another good one might be "Superfly" by Curtis Mayfield. Everybody will recognise the tune from that damn sampling that Nelly and Christina Aguilera (sp?) did!

You guys are Canadian! so you gotta throw in Resurrection by Moist...and one or two by Avril Lavigne...I'd go with "Losing Grip" (call me what you want, I think shes great).

also, no cover show is complete without "where is my mind" by the Pixies.

I dunno how well it'll go down that side of the atlantic, but summin by Lost Prophets is always good, they are a hooky, dancey band, and maybe "Last train home" is a good choice...if I was there I'd be dancing.

Lets see...throw in the Blink 182 and Good Charlotte..."Stay together for the Kids" "I miss you" and even "Dammit"(such a party song) should all be pretty good tunes there. and "I just wanna live" by GC is awesome.

I'd also keep with what is relevant right now...so I reckon that Franz Ferdinand suggestion is a great one...also, how about "wake me up when September ends" by Greenday...everyone in the world loves them right now...and rightly so.

Oooh, and to add to the Dire Straits score, I'd throw in "Romeo and Juliette"...and ofcourse no school dance is complete without Pink Floyds "Another Brick in the wall"

good luck...and Acapella...what happend to the rapeme?

Jon took it away on account of it being un-family-oriented.

He is the bassist. And he shall remain so forever, if I have my way. Actually, RHCP is a good idea....he's always complaining about how bass is boring. I bet some RHCP would shut him right up.

No way, if you're gonna do a theme song, do something that has energy, like the Power Rangers theme or the MacGyver theme. Too many people hate Tony Danza for that theme to be a hit. Whenever I hear that song I turn into the proverbial bull only instead of seeing red I see Tony Danza's face everywhere and I'm compelled to go "Hulk Smash" on the world.

Holy crap.

Go find a girl, my friend. No one should have that much time to think about theme songs.

Why is it that every ounce of my personality can be routed to being a result of not having a girlfriend?

Ok, ok, I'm sorry. It didn't necessarily have to be girls. Go and play more guitar then.

I don't think that's going to help my case since I can already play the MacGyver them on guitar.
