That was great . No matter what you say, I think you can use the whammy bar fairly well, especially towards the end. And don't abandon that axe entirely - it has a beautiful tone! I liked the way this was structured around a number of key hooks and progressions, with colourful little licks interspersed throughout (as opposed to random noodling, like on my track). The fast hammer-on/pull-offs around the 1:50 mark sounded really cool.

Well thank you! It did sound nice but the noise those single coils make.....ugh! I may try the same thing with Betsy just to see what it would've came out like. I'll wait for you other folks before I do that though.

That sounded great magic, as did everyone elses. I look forward to hearing more. I think I may even give it a shot, since I haven't participated in one of these yet. What all I play might not be concidered full on lead, but I'd like to give it a shot either way. Would you have any objections to me shifting the pitch of the track down 1/2 step? That's where I normally keep my guitars for the band I'm in, but I'll just have to see how it sounds first. Anyway, not sure when I'll get to it, but definitely be on the look out for something sometime soon. ;)

Do what you do Eric. Hell rip the thing apart and rebuild it if you want. We can see where it evolves too. :D

Good job everyone. They all sound good. Ill probably do it today, but Ive gotta tune my guitar back up to standard E, and my Strat is a piece of junk and that will take a while. But yeah, Ill see if I can have something later.

Here's my take on the track. I love the backing by the way, simple and atmospheric.
It's a first take improv. It's criminal how my sound card neutred the tone, but I think it's decent none the less.
Enjoy. :)

*gives Eric a bridal dress* :p

No seriously, I really liked yours - it sort of sounded like a cross between Satch and Dave Gilmour. Some of those lead hooks were brilliant!

And thanks for listening to mine, as well. I have the full version posted now, but the sound quality won't improve until I get my hands on some proper recording gear (which may not be for some time...).

Great Idea Ninja. I'm very interested in improvising over this, however I am pretty busy at the moment. I will definately get around to it though and post it when I finish!

P.S. I really like all of the leads that have been posted so far. Keep up the good work bros.

I don't see why not-you were the first to ask.

Juijitsu:The lead hooks are something you can do. I just listened to the backing track once and verbally sang along with it. When I sang something I liked, I play it on guitar. I only used this tecnique for the main hook, but it's extremely useful and proves itself time after time for me.

Once again, thanks for the compliments and a great backing track while will surely inspire our children for generations to come.

Great job Eric! Very good licks in there.

Akira if you can't find time for me then I don't know where our relationship is going.

That was awsome there Sean. Our relationship remains strong. We'll have to get together on something soon. How about something with a sort of classical flair?

Sounds delicious! It may take me that long to prepare a proper backing anyway. Good luck with all that by the way. :)

That was really well done, Akira. The whammy dive near the middle sounded awesome!

That was awsome Akira. Great job man.
What pedal(s) do you use?

Here is my improvisation over magicninja`s track.
Sorry about the sound quality and the mistakes.
I had fun doing it.

If I was a cut and paste wiz I'd put these together and make a GT super track! You guys are doing great. I never thought I'd get this much responses becuase of how every other attempt at something like this went down.
Anyone and everyone feel free to lay something down. Still waiting on a few guys to finish thiers.
