In his four-volume series of books "The Masks of God", Campbell tried to summarize the main spiritual threads of the world, in support of his ideas on the "unity of the race of man"; tied in with this was the idea that most of the belief systems of the world had a common geographic ancestry, starting off on the fertile grasslands of Europe in the Bronze Age and moving to the Levant and the "Fertile Crescent" of Mesopotamia and back to Europe (and the Far East), where it was mixed with the newly emerging Indo-European (Aryan) culture.

He believed all spirituality is searching for the same unknown force (which he spoke of as both an immanent and a transcendent force, or that which is both within and without, as opposed to only without) from which everything came, in which everything currently exists, and into which everything will return. He referred to this force as the connotation of what he called "metaphors", the metaphors being the various deities and objects of spirituality in the world. Any information to the contrary was regarded as "ridiculous" and ignored, so that what remains may be forcibly pushed into this worldview.

And since religions develop similar ideas independently that's stealing how?

"Read myths. They teach you that you can turn inward, and you begin to get the message of the symbols. Read other people's myths, not those of your own religion, because you tend to interpret your own religion in terms of facts - but if you read the other ones, you begin to get the message. Myth helps you to put your mind in touch with this experience of being alive. Myth tells you what the experience is." (from The Power of Myth)

i'm not saying don't believe .....i'm just asking people to not close their mind......but it is up to them. i believe there is some kind of intelligence involved with creation .....i just don't have any concept of what it is.

From wikipedia:

The only one of those Im real familiar with there is the horse. They actually found a 3 toed and a 1 toed horse buried in the same strata out in Oregon. Shouldve been way far apart, yet they lived together.

All of those are easily disputed anyways. They are yet to find NONE that are undisputed. Theyve never found a half fin, half leg, or a half wing. Every fossil ever found has been 100% functional. No vestigial structures, no nothing.

Pony, youve got more faith than I do. You believe a theory that defies the law of Biogenisis (Only life can produce life), the 1st Law of Thermodynamics (the total sum of all matter and energy in the universe is constant. It is neither created nor destroyed), and the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (all matter and energy is becoming less ordered and less complex aka entropy).

3 accepted laws of scientific physics and yet you still believe it. Looks like physics has some revisions to do then too. Borels single law of chance also says its mathematically impossible for these things to happen.

I dont think anything about the origins of life should be taught in schools if they have nothing factual. Its a fairy tale for adults. The fact is, Creationism makes more sense scientifically than Evolution.

Nothing. They should be taught to keep an open mind. I dont have a problem with evolution being taught simply as theory but they also need to show all the problems and holes in the theory which isnt even close to being adequately done and never will be. Life doesnt come from nowhere and the kids dont see that side of it, because somehow its not considered scientific. (yet its a scientific law) They need to realize that a Creator makes as much sense, if not more, than what theyre being taught.

Did I say somewhere it was fact? Nonetheless, dont teach the kids about the tests with spontaneous generation then turn your back and tell them it happened in nature. Contradictions.

Let's not forget Egypt. The crucifix and and Jesus have a lot of things in common with the ankh and the story of Horus. That's a story that stretches before Jesus was even born. Kinda makes you wonder if he'd have been resurrected if there wasn't an Orthodox church in Egypt.

So the romans crucified people because of the Egyptian story of Horus?

No. The stories of Horus and Jesus both have similarities in that Jesus died and was resurrected, while Horus was the resurrected Osiris. Both of which followed very similar nature in that they both held their virginity, had a god for a father. Even Jesus' mother Mary has her connections. Neith was the mother of Ra who is directly associated with Horus (sky/sun). The word "beloved" was tied to Neith excessively. Coincidentally the Egyptian word for "beloved" is "Mery."
