there are none. they aren't made.

i dont have $2000 to go and order a custom made guitar. and thats the best guitar on earth. a custom made guitar. i mean if i could pick my favorite, it would be something unique, you know, not something made 1000 times a day.

Mine would be a Custom made Fender Stratocaster. Black or silver with dark rosewood fretboard with a mother-of-pearl vine inlay, with 3A flamed maple neck, over wound strat pu's and a chrome diamond plate pickguard. with all chrome hardware.

cyclone II with these mods:

stacked humbuckers all with taps and phase switches instead of just 3 single coils with on/off switches.

and add a piezo to the bridge but keep it a strat bridge like they have on it.

there ya go.
okay...my post is done...goodbye.

picture an ibanez jem.

-1. remove that ugly handle
-2. change the body to crimson silk top maple
-3. all hardware is made of pure gold, not gold colored
-4. dark rosewood fretboard
-5. gold frets
-6. now about the pickguard... well im not big on the whole over-sized pick guard cause i never really hit the guitar body between the strings or anything so the pick-guard will be a gibson les paul-like pick guard.
-7. the inlays will be ivory-colored vine inlays, but with spikes on the vine and 1 leaf on the 1, 5, 7, 9, 15, 17, 19 ... and 2 leafs on the 12th and 24th fret.
-8. it MUST have upper fret access. i refuse to play a guitar without upper fret access.
-9. i want the evo pickups like on vai's "evo" nicknamed jem.
-10. i want it to be evo humbucker on neck, single on middle, evo humbucker on bridge.
-11. like a true jem, i want floys rose trem and nut
-12. put the handle back on.
-13. make it $200

and thats my guitar.

mine would either be a
ESP viper custom, with string through body Instead of being 22fret make it 24fret instead of the emg 81's or wat ever it has, dimarzio super distortion at bridge and neck would be a seymour duncan pearly gates :)

Or a Belman "australian guitar brand" albatross  with same pick p arange ment as in the esp and 24 frets instead of 22

i forgot the zero fret.. ytea and the pick guard color would be gold. now that would match with the gold bridge, pots, tremolo, frets, tuning knobs, o and guess what! i decided to make the inlays gold and there will be a double-cutaway gold stripe outline on the guitar.

so in other words, (things mentioned above might get repeated)

picture an ibanez jem.

-1. remove that ugly handle
-2. change the body to crimson (dark reddish) flame top maple
-3. all hardware is made of pure gold, not gold colored
-4. dark rosewood fretboard
-5. gold frets (and a zero fret)
-6. now about the pickguard... well im not big on the whole over-sized pick guard cause i never really hit the guitar body between the strings or anything so the pick-guard will be a gibson les paul-like pick guard.
-7. the inlays will be pure gold inlays baby! vine inlays, but with spikes on the vine and 1 leaf on the 1, 5, 7, 9, 15, 17, 19 ... and 2 leafs on the 12th and 24th fret.
-8. it MUST have upper fret access. i refuse to play a guitar without upper fret access.
-9. i want the evo pickups like on vai's "evo" nicknamed jem.
-10. i want it to be evo humbucker on neck, single on middle, evo humbucker on bridge.
-11. like a true jem, i want (gold) floyd rose trem and nut
-12. all hardware not mentioned yet (plug, pots, pickups, tremolo, tuning knobs) are pure gold.. yea and theres gonna be a gold outline on the edges of the guitar.
-13. put the handle back on. (no outline on the handle)
-14. the headstock will say "to larry" cause i dont want no company name on my guitar.
-15. make it $200
-16. make sure i remember this when ordering a custom.

The Invader is a good pup, though mines at the neck.......and in an LP.....and needs tonal adjustment to make it sound just right.......

Favourite, right?

Not the Ultimate-Maxi-Zoom-Mega-Whammy-Custom-made-Dream-Machine-that-I've-never-played-so-I-don't-really-know?

1984 Yamaha SBG1000 with DiMarzio humbuckers, series/parallel switching for both pups, and a phase switch for the neck pup. That's my favourite setup. I like it so much that I have two of 'em; one with Dual Sound & SCHB, and another with Tone Zone & PAF Pro pups.

I also have an original Washburn A20-CS in stock trim that I love to play, but the SBG1000's are my favourites.

I have had about 8 guitars from les pauls (to heavy and don,t sit in your lap well) Blade durangos. But my favorite is my new squier standard. Your favorite guitar should not be one that is so expensive that you can,t enjoy it with out having to treat it like a baby. I started out on a very cheap squier about 10 years ago and traded up to a epiphone lp and then I traded up from there. But I have always regreted getting rid of my cheap squire. Maybe because it was my first, but it was funner to play.

alot of time, effort, and money... I am planning on building my own custom guitar soon. I was just on stewmac.com last night trying to figure out all the parts I would need, and how much it would cost for all those parts.. ended up being about $460, but I forgot to add finishing supplies, and still need pickups.

that's assuming I have all the tools I need already too, which I probably don't

so about $700-ish for mine, your price will vary based on how fancy you want it (maybe you don't want abalone star inlays like I do :D)

I got this book for christmas. it's geared towards someone making their first guitar. but it only teaches you basic strategies. for example, it teaches you how to make a bolt-neck guitar, it doesn't tell you how to make neck-thru or set neck guitars. but all-in-all it's pretty informative, but I wouldn't use it as an only reference before building a guitar. (btw, if you are going to get it, it's alot cheaper on amazon.com then it is on stewmac.)

I found >this book< to be very helpful. It covers all three types of neck joint, and explains very clearly the design implications of angling the neck back from the body like an LP, or making it parallel to the body like a Strat.

If I ever sort out just which features would combine to make the ultimate guitar, I may actually build one. As it is, I have 9 guitars, and each of them has something very pleasing to offer me. I have my favourites, but I still pick up the others once in a while to experience that special something that I can't get anywhere else.
