Prettiest guitar in the world

I think Akira's guitar is quite sexy if I do say so myself. And who the hell do you think you are telling us that what we think is pretty isn't? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The guitar I posted is my own personal baby. I think it is an amazing guitar. The finish is beautiful, the shape and contours are sexy as hell, and when I play it, it brings my ears and hands to orgasm. It might be an ugly guitar to you, but to me it's is beautiful in many ways. So, either post what you think is a beautiful guitar, or keep your negative opinions to yourself! Especially when talking about someone elses personal guitar!

I happen to agree though...I am not particularly keen on Akira's Jackson (sorry dude, just not my thing) but I appreciate that it is not without its charms and may be just what someone else loves...personally some nice grain and a translucent finish is important to me, looks wise...I love that natural vibe (even if its not natural finish, so long as I can see the grain...ohhh I love that)

I know it's all opinion, everyone. I DID start this thread. Sorry if I offended you. I just don't personally think any of 'em were that great, EXCEPT of course for that 25th anniversary Les Paul magicninja posted. That thing was probably the best looking LP I've ever seen. Actually, that PRS you first posted was pretty alright too, a lot better than the PRS's I had in mind when I started the 'ugliest guitars' thread.

Ok lets take stock here Earthman. Your original question included the rider

We're all different and we all like different things - that's I guess why you'd ask such a question in the first place. Imagine if we were all the same and all liked B C Rich guitars :eek:

For what it's worth I guess i'm pretty conservative - The most beautiful guitars in the world to me are my own two guitars (hey, who ever owned up to having ugly children): An ash-bodied sunburt strat and a black Epiphone Sheraton. I'm similar to the other poster in that grain is important to me and I can drool over the semi-translucent paint finish on my strats ash body until kingdom come. I know the strat is a bit old hat but the reason it's been so popular for so long is because it is such a perfect shape. I don't like super strat's like Ibanez's but then I can appreciate why some people might be attracted to them (Perversely i do actually like the shape of Akira's guitar but i'd have to re-spray it). I like PRSPlayers guitar (Is that a jar of pickled onions to the right of the whisky?) but i do think PRS guitars in general are fairly damn gorgeous. And yes the Les Paul was nice but then hey - we're on to classic shapes again and the LES Paul is up there in my opinion. The only guitar that i've never really dug is the SG - I just can't see any inherent beauty in it's design at all. I guess people buy them because they sound so amazing.

well, in my opinion, the les paul and SG have very similar tones, probably because they use the same pickups. so when it came to buying a new guitar, it was down to a les paul or an SG for me.. I decided on SG because, 1. lighter on the shoulder, and 2. (and more importantly) the looks, it's more of a "I'm a born rocker!" kind of look. plus, you don't see them as often as you see les pauls.

Yeah, I guess that was worded pretty dumb. What I meant to say was that I had a suspicion you folks were basing your choices on sound as well as looks, and that if you were basing solely on looks, I simply could not believe you, as many of the guitars you had chosen I find it hard to believe could be liked by anyone.

I think I realize why no one has chosen guitars I like, though. I like trashy lookin' crap. Do any of you watch Kids in the Hall? You know that guitar Bruce McCulloch plays when he plays the character Bobby? That to me is a beautiful guitar.

Anyhow, I never meant to insult or offend anyone, I just wanted to know what you all were into. I'm sorry if I pissed you off, which I get the impression I did.

Wow I can't believe you'd ask that. My axe is definatly the best here :D . I think we take what seems to be the five best or at least five most talked about guitars in this thread and have a vote for prettiest GT Axe. Should be one someone owns and not a picture of a dream.

Since your not high bandwidth you can't attach files. You have to do the URL thing. If you don't already have one go to www.photobucket.com Create an account(free!) You will be able to upload photos to there. When you do they will give you the direct URL link. Copy it. In the reply page here there is a little yellow Icon on top with mountains or something. Click it and paste the URL. You got yourself a pic on GT!

the clashing shades of green and red make it look like puke... but a very christmas-y guitar I suppose :rolleyes:

but again, that's what you like, it's not what I like. it's cool, life goes on!
