porn for bibles (work safe)

so i read an interesting article about a group of college kids called the atheist agenda located at UTSA(u. texas, san antonio) who are exchanging what they call smut for smut with giving out pornography to anyone who turns in a book of religious texts(be it the bible, koran, or whatever). i thought the guy made some intersting points...especially the point of where morality is based from...and i just thought i'd share the article i read and their webpage with you guys..

That is the most rediculously twisted bull **** Ive ever read. This kid is so oblivious to what Christianity is actually about it sickens me. His translations of the Bible are simply based on his choice not to believe in God. Maybe he should look a little harder into finding out the actual meanings of the scripture instead of incorrectly trying to interpret them himself. This is a stupid idea and its nothing more than Atheists smacking each other on the butt and egging one another on. Like an actual Christian, Muslim, or anyone of any other religion actually showed up for the exchange. People feel the need to deny God so much these days and I really dont understand why. Wait, yes I do. Its prophesized in the Bible.

I don't know how good the actual idea is, but the idea gets attention so that makes it good. See porn, is all "smut", The Bible may have some things you don't agree with, but there are some good idea in there. Like, you know, "thou shall not kill."

Surely - I certainly believe in - Love one another.

But is the fear of God, greater than the love of god.

These bibilical texts are knives that cut deeply into one's self. It is not easy to examine and cultivate one's self. It is only natural that the atheist agenda might feel resistance, and even anger, a feeling for the need to strike out.

That may be true, I just don't think its The Bible really can be compared to porn. Thats just a little bit radical.

there's a million christian agenda groups who push their own selfish beliefs* on others by having many lobbyists in washington DC.

what's wrong with having an atheist agenda? i mean christians are all against my views and opinions, i think it's great someone is out trying to spread what represents more my opinion. it's nice there are more people out there who aren't happy with the current state of religion and are looking to put across a stance of morality that more represents my own. that was the part i liked.....where he defined where morality comes from...empathy and when empathy fails, law. most people today lack empathy and, instead, follow dogmatic law...then you get people in office like mr bush who has no empathy at all and finds himself in the ability to go above the law...and so he does without any regret or feeling. his only morality is dogmatic law and like what was said, dogmatic law can literally be picked and chosen into whatever you want it to be.





*selfish belief: any religion that tramples over god's greatest gift of free choice is selfish and self-righteous to judge others (judgement is for god alone, right?).

Porn can't be compared to bibles.
Porn is something for lonely guys to jerk off to, it's entirely human and has no use except for lust. The bible is a way of life for many people.
I don't hate anyone here, I just can't let everyone believe a bible is comparable to porn.

the bible is almost equally degrading to women as porn is. porn, i find, is more degrading to both sexes, though....while the bible is more favorable towards men.


you're offended by sex. you and every other christian in the known world can thank st augustine for that one. look him up sometime....he was basically a huge swinger....think casanova...but then converted over to christianity and was born again....he was one of the biggest anti-sex people in the church. more than likely had STD's too. actually if i'm not mistaken it goes from st augustine to thomas aquainus?

but whatever, i think i get way too into the history of stuff....but that's because i like to know context and have understanding.

Porn represents beauty, whereas the bible represents brutally murdering people for picking up sticks on sunday. (Legal) porn is done consentually, whereras the bible encourages mass infanticide, genocide, and the taking of prepubescent sex slaves. Porn is a great way to blow an hour, whereas the bible frequently provides justification for murder. Porn doesn't hurt anybody, whereas the christian church tortured people to death for disagreeing with it for around a thousand years.

Roughly three quarters of America's population is christian. If you can't stand hearing the minority voice of us atheists you don't deserve to call yourself a citizen of a free country.
