one problem, you'd have to catch it first!

I would buy a jetta, but I've heard VW has a history of electronic problems, plus they are often viewed as a "girl's car" which I really wouldn't care about if I could out power and out handle any of the "manly men" who need to have their 4x4 pickup truck to make themselves feel more manly... it is my theory that the people that do have to have a manly pickup truck, do it to make themselves feel better about their small penises :D

Depends on where you're talking about. You're right about places like Washington DC or Los Angeles where very few people have any good reason to buy a truck, but pretty much everyone owns trucks on farms and in the south.

Try hauling a dead deer in a Jetta sometime.

I live in the mountains near a natural gas pipeline construction. I've seen some trucks man. Some of these trucks. I ain't gonna tell you about those trucks, but damn.

I think I saw a ford F450 yesterday... I didn't even know those existed, I thought that the 350 was the the biggest one there was... guess I was wrong.

So you're saying that because I own this truck I have a small penis

That statement would probably get you killed if you said it out loud where I live. I couldn't live without my trucks, and would be up **** creek a lot of times if I didn't have a 4x4. As Hammurabi said, it all depends on where you live, and what your motives are. A car is an impracticle vehicle for me, just like a truck is an impracticle vehicle for you.

Well let's see, I'm 6' 3" tall. Wear a size 13 shoe. I've got a COK that would rival the first rocket ever sent to the moon. And a truck that could pull your house off the foundation it sits on. It just don't get more manly than that. I guess people that consider buying jetta's do it for their lack of insecurity about being a homosexual.

then it would be a holly jolly christmas for me indeed!

btw, to anyone that was wondering what became of my dad's car... I went into kragen auto parts today, and ordered a new turn signal casing, which is the only thing that really needs replacing... and it was $26... guess I got off lucky this time and didn't have to throw hundreds of dollars down on this thing. and learned a valuable lesson in the process.

o yeah, I bet you have enough money to cover the speed-damage :D

LMAO... good stuff people.

I guess its just differnt cultures. Im from the mid west, you need a 4x4 just to make it up my driveway.. if you guys have ever been mudding, it would change your mind about 4x4 truck (that is if your not to scared to get dirty, i would hate you mess up your manicure trying to dig out the truck :p )

eather way, this is a guitar forum. lets not start a flame war over cars.

PRS player, nice truck :)

I take back my original statement, because I forgot to take into consideration the people that live out in the boons and don't have a paved road for miles from their house. yes, I can see where owning a jetta in a place like that could be impractical. let me rephrase and say that the people who own big trucks in a city, who own them only to prove their manliness, obviously are NOT manly enough to prove they are a man without a big truck.

PRS, I didn't mean to offend you, you know you have my utmost respect. let us plese continue this discussion about cars.. it is most entertaining!

but one last thing, I just filled my gas tank up, I was dangerously close to running out of gas (the needle was on E for at least 30 miles!) and I just filled it all the way up completely, for under $20... and the tank lasted 247.7 miles, and NONE of that was freeway. it was all just a couple miles at a time and alot of red lights and stop signs... let's see you do that in your truck

ok, kragen sucks.. they called me a few days ago, and told me that their warehouse didn't have my cornering light in stock, and they don't back order it... so, they told me I could just go get a refund... which I did tonight. well, earlier today, I was looking through a "super street" magazine, and I saw an advertisement for a website, and when I went on there, I found some nice prices! now it's down to this, which cornering lights would look the best out of these on a 94 honda civc DX sedan (a blue one)
these
these
or these

also, to ponyone, or anyone else knowledgable in all things cars, how do you install a spoiler? is it bolted on from underneath? is it some kind of adhesive? or does it need to be welded on? I'm not considering this for my dad's car, but I may get one for my own car when I get one (which could be anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks now, I came up with this number by calculating in my head how long it would take to save up $2000 by putting only a percentage of my paycheck in the bank, the large range is because I wasn't sure what percentage I was going to be putting in the bank)

yeah, I was going to do some stuff for the performance/economy too.

oh, btw, I ordered some cornering lights (the first ones I listed) so hopefully the car will look better then stock after getting them in.

astro vans suck dude... my mom had one for a while... needed repairs really often.. which is true to just about any car that bears the chevy logo. again, no offense to the southerners and muscle car types who would only ever consider a chevy, but seriosuly, they aren't the most reliable cars.

and pony, since you worked for a vw place for a while, how often did people come in with their cars due to electrical problems? I heard it was pretty common in VW's
