HI people. I think that I have a realy rubbish set-up on my guitar and it sounds horrible.
I have a tanglewood electric with two entwistle humbuckers. And then I run through a Marshall MG15CRD bedroom amp. I know people are just gonna say that it's my amp but i don't think it is.
I have not adjusted anything since I bought it (no pick-up height, string adjustments) It's just that I don't want to make it worse and I haven't got a clue what to do. Anyone got a suggestions on how to make it sound better?

PS.. I am gonna get some effects soon hopefully so that might help.
Im not ok. Im not okhayhay. Im not ok.

Try changing strings. You would be amazed what a fresh set of strings will do for your guitar. You can try to adjust the pickup height if the string change doesn't help. The effects may help your tone or if it's really that bad they may not. If none of that works you could always get you some new pickups.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

Well, apart from replacing your guitar, pickups or amp.. you might think about getting a multi-effects pedal. Just adding a little compression, chorus and reverb does wonders for your sound.

You haven't really let anyone know what the actual problem is. Rubbish can mean so many different things to everyone. The better your explanation, the better someone may be able to help you.

First, you need the incentive to try and find stuff out on your own. Change your settings around, play at different volumes, change pickups around, get different effects pedals. The way to get the sounds you like is to experiment. It took me 3 years to get the set-up that I have now, but whos to say it won't change. You gotta take some action on your own part.

Lots of research doesn't hurt either.
Use Google to see if there's info or images available.
Sign on to the local library and see what books you can find on the subject.
Browse the bookstores. If a book is too expensive, there's bookstores like the one in town here with their own coffee shop and nice comfortable living room chairs to sit in. Go spend an hour and do some learning.
There's some excellent books on guitar setup, room acoustics, music ... whatever you want. You just gotta go get em.
If you can afford it, subscribe to a couple of decent guitar magazines.
