Lots of research doesn't hurt either.
Use Google to see if there's info or images available.
Sign on to the local library and see what books you can find on the subject.
Browse the bookstores. If a book is too expensive, there's bookstores like the one in town here with their own coffee shop and nice comfortable living room chairs to sit in. Go spend an hour and do some learning.
There's some excellent books on guitar setup, room acoustics, music ... whatever you want. You just gotta go get em.
If you can afford it, subscribe to a couple of decent guitar magazines.
