Computer recording help
I've been wanting to record some of my stuff for this websight and my websight. The way I do it is: I get my RP-100 (has a headphone jack), grab a chord and connect the two via the headphone jack and my comps mic input. I can hear myself but the quality is HORRIBLE! you can't really make out anything. Anyone know whats wrong?

I believe the rp-100 has an out on the back of it run a cable from there into your computer's soundcard's "line in" not mic input, that could be why it sounds like that. Yo it's been awhile rammstein wb.

Thanx for the welcome back, I got into a phaze of insane guitar playing where my skill level whent from 1 to 10! I've tried the line-in and it sounds GREAT, but I cant record from their, anymore suggestions?

Why can't you record from your line-in? What type of s0undcard are you using? That sounds odd, are you sure that for recording programs your line in isn't muted? Double- Click your mixer(speaker thingy in your taskbar), click options, then properties, then check the recording properties. See if that helps.

Hey gang.I have been thinking of getting a Fostex, or Tascam 4 track to fool around with but just got my computer and was wondering what kind of recording software you would reccomend that is affordable.Aprecciate any suggestions, thanks.

Keep in mind that the average consumer soundcard takes like 2-3watts for it's inputs. Be sure to feed it a line-level signal using the "line-in" jack. Mic. jack is totally wrong for this. If it's too quiet, increase the line level from your computer, not from the sound source (multi-track, mixer etc.)

Just use Cool edit software.
I have just a basic sound card and use just the crappy computer mic that you can get for ten bucks.
record open mic, and the quality is good (not pro, but who cares for a web site).
Cool edit is an awesome multrack recorder that doesn't take rocket science to learn (unlike Cakewalk).
