This week, exactly 25 years ago... Led Zeppelin played their final concert, John Bonham died shortly after. :(

Yep, he gets a Musician's Friend newsletter. I usually don't read "the week that was" part, but today's I did, because it contained that niblet of info. Anytime's a good time to 'celebrate' Zep though.

Yes, the three besides John Bonham.

Jimmy Page (guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass/Keyboards), and Robert Plant (singer).

w00t. Plant came to my town. I didn't see him because they said in additionto Zeppelin tunes, he'd also be singing songs from his solo career...*shudder*

He'll pop up as a guest every now and then. I was very disappointed that he chose to collaborate with Puff Daddy a couple of years ago, to do a rap Kashmir. As far as I know the last time all 3 surviving members played together was in mid 80's with Bonham's son Jason playing drums.

ok, I was serious though! my friend who I'm trying to get to learn to play drums has pointy ears that look like elf ears... my other friend (who plays bass) is so fircken lazy that we call him a sloth... and then for vocals, I was trying to think of someone that I knew that could sing, the only that came to my mind was my girlfriend, who can sing extremely well, (she sang at our county fair last month) and she is totally a princess (long story, I'm not trying to say she's high maitenance or anything, but, even she'll tell you that she is a princess.)

we actually don't have a band at all. first of all, my friend (the elf) doesn't even own a drumset. and my other friend only just started taking bass lessons only 2 or 3 months ago... plus my girlfriend probably wouldn't want to sing in a band consisting of us three... just cause she would want to sing something a little more pop-ish, and we would want to play metal-ish. though maybe we could compromise and just do some evanescence covers.

Or you can accept your musical differences and leave evanessence out of this.

Just a suggestion of another possible choice.

I was actually just joking, the 4 of us would never have a band. I actually like evanescence, I was just suggesting it because it's got heavy music, yet the singing is not like screaming.

Page did some live stuff with "The Black Crows". There is a live cd.

That new Plant song is kinda cool. The "shine" song. I dunno what its called, but its OK.

I hear JPJ is a session guy or teaching or something.
