Choices, choices
I recently discovered my amplifier needs the help of a dist. pedal to get the sounds im looking for. I need a decent pedal at a decent price...cause im a poor fool. Any sugestions?

Since you're a "poor fool" much like me... I suggest doing what I did. I saved the few extra bucks and bought a GNX2 (back when they were brand new). I still use it all the time even though my list of gear keeps growing each month. It's a great tool when you need to dial in a certain tone, plus you can download tones straight from the DigiTech website. When I analyzed the cost of a wah, distortion, overdrive, flanger, chorus, and delay pedal (all at about 90 bucks a pop... it came out to be around 500 dollars. So I picked up a GNX for 300. You also get a ton more bells and whistles with it (amp models, cab models, noise gate, midi in/out... and more) When you're a poor fool, bang-for-the-buck is critical... and for you I think it would be beneficial for you to check them out.

I think a POD 2.0 (the one before the PODxt) would sound great throught that amp. I'm currently using one in the loop of a Peavey Classic 50 and love it. Some of the effects are lacking a bit on it, but if you want good effects, by actuall pedals. It's worth the amp models and versatility though. You can pick one up on ebay for around $100.

yeah, I think you may as well go all out and buy an amp modeller, I would look at the Line6 Pod Xt Live, because all the others will still require a footswitch/floorboard if you wanna use them anywhere but your bedroom. (the Vox Tonelab se also is a floor unit, but I dont like it). Good luck hunting around.

I have a PODxt bean as well (which is identicle to the XT live), and to me, the POD 2.0 sounds much better for live use than the XT, but the XT sounds better for direct recording. With the POD 2.0, I can have a few tones in my head and set up 4 patches within 15-20 min. Whereas, it will probalby take me 45min. just to set up one patch with the XT . But, when recording, it is defanately worth it.
For live use, I use the 4-button FB4(?) to change patches, and have a volume - wah - overdrive - chorus - delay in front of it just like a real amp.
I defanately suggest playing both through your amp before deciding on one, if you can. As alway's, what works for me, might not work for you

Well, I have the Boss GT-8 processor, and it's great! But it's far from cheap.
Something that might work out really well for you is a pedal by Ibanez, the TS-9 Tube Screamer. You can still find them on eBay fairly reasonably priced. :)

Everything is OK in the end.
If it's not OK, then it's not the end.
