I am a "Terminal beginner" , my fingers don't fit and or move (glide) around on the fretboard. Somebody told me to try Super Slinky strings. I have a Squire Afinity Strat. Any sugestions on "Easy playing strings"?

Yep, slinkys are good. The deal with the different gauges is lighter is faster and easier to bend/fret, but they break easier and aren't as good for chords. SRV played some really heavy strings, .012 mm for his high E...but you gotta have some real muscle to bend em like he did. I'd start out with .010 or .009 mm gauge, which would equal to about a .046 mm to .042 mm low E string. I tend to like my wound strings a lil heavier, and my unwounds to be just normal or light to try and get the best of both.

Yeah, I would got with the Super Slinkys, or if you can afford to keep buying em(cos you will love em) I`d go with Elixir strings, I find them smooth and "slippery" and also just so full of tone...just incredible.

Correction to the guy that said SRV played .12's... he actually played .13's. Either way, that's a really high gauge for high strings and I've played a guitar with .12's on it and it's crazy. Use what strings feel comfortable with you though man, try out different brands and try out different gauges. What someone else prefers doesn't have to be what you prefer. People laugh at me because I use Fender Super Bullet 250's (.10's or .11's) in my Strat... but it's what I use and I tell them "I don't really care if my strings are 2 dollar strings becuase I know I can make them sound better than your 15 dollar ones!!!!!" haha I do plan on checking out those new DR colored strings though.

I really don't think your strings is your problem.
As usual, it's practice and more practice that does it.
After playing X amount of hours you'll know how to apply just the right
amount of pressure to move over the fretboard with ease.
