Correction to the guy that said SRV played .12's... he actually played .13's. Either way, that's a really high gauge for high strings and I've played a guitar with .12's on it and it's crazy. Use what strings feel comfortable with you though man, try out different brands and try out different gauges. What someone else prefers doesn't have to be what you prefer. People laugh at me because I use Fender Super Bullet 250's (.10's or .11's) in my Strat... but it's what I use and I tell them "I don't really care if my strings are 2 dollar strings becuase I know I can make them sound better than your 15 dollar ones!!!!!" haha I do plan on checking out those new DR colored strings though.
