Anybody wanna give a try at adding a vocal track to this tune.
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/SchmangeOnline/NewBlue.mp3
(keep in mind that these are MP3 lofi versions.... full .Aiff or .Wav tunes are available for recording purposes.)
Right now it's a throwaway tune, cause it's background music that needs a vocal to complete it. Unfortunately, after several tries...nobody I work with can find a melody/lyrics/vocal line to fit with it.
I don't even know what style of music you'd call it except to say it's for use in TV/Film projects. Although if the right melody and lyrics were written, it could be reformatted.
I have several contracts with various publishers and labels who use stuff like this for TV/Film use or commercials, so if you think you can add a vocal track, lemme know and you'll be entitled to writing credits and royalties.
----------------------------------------------------
There's many other unfinished tunes on my sountrack page...
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/SchmangeOnline/Soundtrackst0964.htm
... that are in need of either vocals, melodies or even just rap lyrics, vocal sound effects... or basically anything that would help sell the tunes to advertising agencies or Film/TV supervisors.
I have numerous major studio contacts so I'm looking for top quality, performers and lyricists who can provide finished master quality recordings over the internet. (ie, taking my bed tracks and using your home equipment to record your vocal tracks and then uploading completed .wav files to my server so that I can immediately submit them for consideration.)

Can I make it about cybernetic postmen?

Make it about anything ya want. Although cybernetic postmen probably wouldn't work too good for advertisement firms. :)
Mostly I need to be able to take 30 second snippets that have just a few words in them that sound cool enough to make people want to buy a product. The more generic the lyrics the better. ie, 'Zoom Zoom Zoom' for cars, 'Who let the dogs out' or whatever...
Basically just listen to any of the songs that are in the background of commercials for Coke, cars, running shoes, potato chips, airlines, mops etc...and think along those lines.
You need a catchy slogan, a kewl way of saying something like 'rock me' or 'fly me away' or just some way of running a few words together that sound good with the background music.
Put it this way..the money for licensing just one song to a major product line can get you 70 grand in licensing fees alone for a 30 second song, then there's royalties on top of that for every time it's played on tv/radio/theatres or anywhere else. (50% comes off the top for the publisher and then the rest is divided up among the writers)
If it's something that becomes a well known slogan (I'm lovin It - McDonalds), you can make a mint.
The recording quality on the vocal track has to be top quality. I've had several people send vocals that are really good but the recording quality or microphone was so bad that I can't present them to publishers. ie,
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/Angels.mp3
...is a good example of a really nice vocal. With all the background noise on it though, I ended up having to add a bunch of sound effects (rain/thunder) to cover it up. This is fine if somebody is looking for exactly that effect, but otherwise most industry types want a 'finished product'. Or in other words, good enough so that they can take your recording and use it as-is.
So for instance, take some simple, 30 second pieces of background music like these and come up with something.
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/Crystal.mp3
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/Limbo.mp3
... or just take 30 or 60 seconds from a tune like this
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/BushTube.mp3
Or you can take just parts of a tune and remove the drums and bass etc... to come up with something completely new...

Both the same tracks, but the second one has most of the percussion instruments removed and could be used as the background to a sci-fi film or whatever.

Actually, that's not too bad at all. It fits the song and makes it more interesting to listen to.
Is there any way you can send me a .wav copy of just your tracks, isolated on their own? (ie, preferably with no effects like reverb or anything..then I can just duplicate the sound you were going for). I'd like to drop your track into the masters and see if there's more I can add to it..especially for the percussion breaks. Possibly even remove the percussion breaks altogether and shorten the whole thing out. If ya can get me the isolated track..just drop me a note at schmange2@rogers.com and I'll arrange access to my server so you can upload it.
btw: what instrument is in the second verse?
It sounds like a moog synth.

My email can handle wavs up to 20MB but it's not very reliable.
The easiest way is to upload the wavs to my server using FTP.
I can set up a temporary password and folder for you and you can either use your browser or a shareware FTP application. Just email me direct.
When ya send the file btw: send me an entire .wav from beginning to end.
In other words, include any silence at the beginning etc...right from the beginning of the song. That way I can just drop your wav into my software and it should sync up no problem.
