I'll agree with you you, though, in that every time I see yet another "low carb" advertisement/product, I want to eat a sack of raw potatoes then beat those responsible for the offending advertisment/product to death with a month old loaf of French bread.

Lucky me , it never snows where I live ... The heaviest thing I ever have to wear in a bad winter is a light muscle shirt with a small jacket over it ! :p

Another tip for cold weather : Don't shave your hair ... anywhere ! ;)

The range you've mentioned is still thought to be healthy , specially if compared with higher ranges that most of people live with .... However , as we grow older , testosterone levels decreases , and that leads to decrease in the amount of muscles and increase of bodyfats , which is a cause or an agent to various deseases and illness ... So , less is better , for your looks now , and your health later.

I had a six pack with more body fat then that

I think your body fat does play a major role in whether or not you have a six pack but that the strength/size of the muscles is also important. so maybe you had 15% body fat, you could still have a six pack if your muscles were big enough... also you could have 8% body fat and not have a six pack if your ab muscles are not big enough. it would just be very strange

Everybody have the six packs wether he/she ever workout or not , big or small isn't the issue , it's about how much fat is covering it.
Generaly , for males you must get below the 10% to have visible abs , and it's 15% for females , as "3rd_degreeburn" pointed out .
However , if you have very big ab muscle (gained by very hard training) , it could be barely visible at a little higher than the 10% .

3rd_degreeburn - It's great to find somebody else who pumps iron on this forum ... Do you still workout ?

I lift weights... I just don't read all these health books and take like protein supplements, or try to be like a body-builder or anything like that. I mainly just do it for the ladies... but also partially to intimidate people

Incase anyone is wondering, I got these numbers from I got them from 2 books:Absolution by Shawn Phillips and the Body for Life by Bill Phillips...great books
Final point...no matter how much muscle you have, your not gonna be able to see its best definition as long as theres unwanted fat covering it.

Thats because they have to much muscle weight thats why infantry does more endurance then strength. Also the air force isn't as much into fitness as the army. Why would they be?

I guess I'm unqualified to post here because I don't give two ****s about any of this...hell, I don't even give an ass and a half.

PS, the only people who get all competitive about lifting and fitness have either small penises or small brains...or both.

Well said, Ponyone, unless you were talking to me...in which case...poorly said. 3rd_degreeburn: I'd refrain from reading this thread and then posting if it weren't so fun to say you all have small penises for arguing about this, even though the two things are quite unrelated.

Very true. They might be ably to put you down quicker, but strength doesn't mean as much in a fight as you might think. I know, I fight a lot! Mostly just for fun, and the incredible adrenlin rush that you get. I am not a big guy, actually rather small, and have worked out maby 2 weeks on, one year off for the past few years. I may lack size and strength, but i sure can hold my own in a fight, and I have fought some pretty tough guys. Actually, I think fighting is a lot more mental than physical.
