Okay, we started up a cover band about 6 months ago, just found a bass player to fill out the band about a month ago, and now we're to the point of naming the band. Alway's a big issue.......Anyway, here is a partial list of bands we're covering: Van Halen, Gun's N' Roses, Black Sabbath, Rush, AC/DC, Queen, The Cars, Metallica (pre-black album), Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, SRV, Hendrix......you get the picture, classic rock for the most part.

Everyone throw some ideas out here, we need 'em.

Just Another Frickin' Cover Band (ya, you know you like how I included your last name)

Our band right now is called "Please Love Us", but here are some ideas we didn't end up using:

Putting The "unk" in "Funk"
Oops We Did It Again
I'm Not So Crazy After All
Who Put The "Funk" In the "Joe Joey Funky Doo"?
Robots Are People Too (I know, it's stupid)
P.S. we're not gay
We Thrive On Public Attention
Joe Joey Funky Doo

The brainstorming session for the band names was one of the funniest evenings I've ever had... we we're killing ourselves laughing, and my stomach was sore.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

ALL generalizations are WRONG

Keep 'em coming guys. I kind of like Oops we did it again. Maybe shortened to We Did It Again (actually cool for a coverband name) just so people won't associate us with Britney.

iamthe_eggman: thanks for using my name in vein...ha.

Some funny ideas I've heard:
Death by monkeys
George Foreman and the Grills
Al and the Coholics

That's the whole point... it's pretty funny to have people think you're a Britney cover band or something.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

You know...out of all of those, I prefer "Vegetarian?" because I'd like to see a band name that's just a random word with a question mark after it. That would be hilariously funny. Like: Chair? Haliburton? or even Polio?

A friend of mine said to get a chicken and one of those dog leash things where you get a wire and run it between two trees or whatever so you can hook the dog leash to it so the dog can run back and forth......Anyway, he said to put the chicken on a leash and run the wire across the stage so the chicken can flop, fly, run back and forth across the stage while were playing, and to just call the band Chicken. Bet PETA would love this one.......

This same friend, actually the drummer in my original band, suggested we change our name from Freak Magnet to Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. PBJS: Perry, Brad, Joe & Stix, all of our names......I wish I knew how his mind works....

If you're into cllassic rock, are a covers band and might cover a little hendrix, then you could just go with something simple like:

The Classic Rock Experience.

I generally think that you shouldnt have your band's name as some type of joke because then everyone will treat your band as a joke and not take you seriously

I heard some cover bands play, like SouthBound (cover for Marshall Tucker), actually good friends of mine that opened for MTB. My own Prison (creed), Blushing brides (rolling stones), NIB (Black Sabbath), Terminus Eldorado (Ted Nugent, one of my personel favs), Pork Chop (ZZ Top). These are bands that played the Boston area back in the day. Course Aerosmith, who I saw play at a local college in '74. I met Joe Perry in '84 during his Joe Perry project days at Scotch and Sounds. Most memorable.
