ohhh I swear some of u...you blame everything possoble on bush (oh my son died because he signed up for the military, oh dont worry its bushs fault) and the republicans...like the draft....well hmm lets see ...the H.R. 163 and S. 89 were both introduced by Democrats yes thats right...democrats..not republicans but the sinless innocent democrats that never do anything wrong..these bills would both reinstate the draft

So true...seems a shame that the draft is blind to all that. Consciencious objection should be a little easier to obtain I concede.

I have Torrets Syndrome ( I dont even know how to spell it). So There will be no drafting for me.

I also have that and don't know how to spell it, but there haven't been any symptoms since 2nd grade.

If I'm ever presented with a real threat of a draft all I'll have to do is lose two pounds and I'll be below the legal weight for military service.

hey, if the time comes to where I have to serve my country then I will..
(unlike some who have some lame excuse like "oh ill just loose 2 pounds so I wont serve my country yet I demand all the rights it has to offer" or "I dont believe in fighting" or any other excuse thats outside medical reasons)

Oh I will remeber what im fighting for. Perhaps also I will use the free time I'll have in the army and "remeber" Grade 3 English.

I will also remember the nice people on this forum whom I love very much, almost like kin, in spite of their complaining about the war and how bad the military is. Although, I wonder if they would really do a better job if they were president? Hmmm... my flights of fancy are becoming more and more frequent.

Ah well, perhaps I've had enough of this forum... maybe the administrative personnel would care to ban me?

I guess I shouldn't worry about my song getting me banned then? This is pretty offensive here. Even though I would fight if the draft called upon me to do it, I can see the reasoning behind not wanting to other than being a "pansy" as Ketsueki likes to think. By the way, how many times did he circumvent there?

I don't think you understand, for a long time I wanted to join the military. The trouble was my body comp is 5%, I weigh 104lbs (I'm 5 foot seven) without my baggy clothes and boots, and the only way I could ever make the legal requirement (109 lbs) would be if I stood on the scale wearing a trenchcoat with bricks in the pockets.

The army has already turned me down. The two pounds off would only reduce the chance of trickery if they changed their mind because I know their measurements often deviate as far as seven pounds from the truth.

If they don't want me willingly don't you think it would be lame for them to force me in?

Serve your country? More like serving the whims of the most fundamentally radical administration this nation has ever seen. Flag wavers hate it when you question motives. This us vs. them mentality will only serve to further exacerbate an already precarious situation.
