Classical Songs

The term “classical guitar” is used to refer to the repertoire of classical music that can be, or has been, adapted to the guitar.

Also called “Spanish Guitar” the classical genre is specific enough to have its own type of guitar, which is an acoustic-style instrument with six nylon strings, as opposed to steal strings. This is designed to cater to the genre’s common techniques, which includes finger-picking, arpeggiated chords and the utilization of fingernails on the right hand.

Most classical music wasn’t originally written on the guitar, but is instead adapted from sheet music that was written on a piano or for a full orchestra.
