Description

In this lesson we’re going to start to incorporate our index, middle and ring fingers. And if you’ve watched my previous fingerstyle lessons you’ll know that the pinky’s job is to plant and anchor on the top of the guitar.

This technique is even more important with thumbpicking because it’s such a dynamic style, if we don’t have an anchor it’s easy for our hand to move around and lose control of our instrument a lot easier. If this is a new concept for you, give it time, a good 2 or 3 months of forcing yourself to keep your pinky there and it will become comfortable.
