This lesson is a conclusion to our new 11th and 13th chords. In this tutorial we learned how to play and use:


Dominant 11th Chords contain:


  • Root or 1st

  • Minor 7th

  • Perfect 9th

  • Perfect 11th (or 4th)


    Minor 11th Chords contain:


  • Root or 1st

  • Minor 3rd

  • Perfect 5th

  • Minor 7th

  • Perfect 11th


    Dominant 13th Chords contain:


  • Root or 1st

  • Major 3rd

  • Perfect 5th

  • Minor 7th

  • Perfect 9th

  • Major 13th (or major 6th)


    Dominant Flat 13th Chords contain:


  • Root or 1st

  • Major 3rd

  • Perfect 5th

  • Minor 7th

  • Perfect 9th

  • Minor 13th (or minor 6th)


    We learned how to play all these 11th and 13th chord shapes with jazz progressions rooted on the E, A & D strings.
