Description
We've already looked at many different ways to spice up the basic chords you use in your rhythm playing; we've used substitutions, extensions, stripped down voicings, and much more. Now it's time to look at a classic style of rhythm guitar playing that combines all of it.
Most people associate this sound with players like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but it has also been used by many other great guitar players through time. To explore this sound we'll go through each of our basic barre chords and look at all the extra notes, tricks and embellishments we can do for each of them as well as how to put it all together into a concise rhythm guitar part. Let's get started!
