Description
In this lesson we're going to break down and play through another practice tune that focuses on the rest of the new harmonic concepts. This will also include a brand new concept where the basic key of the song changes for one of the sections. This is called a modulation, and it's very common in rock.
I hope you've had a lot of fun with these examples, and I hope the theory will help you understand some of the science behind all the different sounds you encounter in rock. Ultimately this will help you shape your own sound and develop your own style of playing and writing, because you'll now be able to isolate the specific elements that you like, and then use them in your own way. Some people do this subconsciously, and that's okay too. But to me it's extremely helpful to not have to rely on happy accidents and pure intuition when I want to explore new concepts and sounds.
