Mary Had A Little Lamb: Harmonizing A Melody

We can also pare down our voicings to just the melody and the bass note. We don't have to use a full chord voicing each time. In this lesson we'll play the melody harmonized with only a bass line. This version is a counterpoint approach called polyphony. This means most of the upper register melody notes are countered by a lower register bass note. This results in essentially two melodic lines that work together. There are chords implied in these harmonized lines, but they are not fully realized or fleshed out.
