Let's really rev up our kick offs using chord inversions. This can be tricky because it will look like I'm playing all over the neck when I'm only playing the notes found in chords you are already familiar with. I'll move slowly through this lesson. First I'll play the chord progression that would be behind the kick off as a rhythm part. You should learn this and play it behind the kick off when I play it. Then I will play Kick Off #3 and show you what inversions I'm using.

Learning kick offs using triad inversions will give you a sound much like the classic country steel guitar players. Try different inversions to come up with your own kick offs.
