Like many 80s guitarists, Lynch used palm muted E and A string chugging in between power chords and open chords to create the foundation of Dokken songs. Lynch made his riffs unique by mixing in power chords and flat 5ths, octaves, exotic scale choices, pinch harmonics and even a well-placed blues lick or two!

Lynch favored high gain rhythm tone, power chords and flat-5 power chords for a sinister sound, palm mute open low E string, pinch harmonics, and flat-5 blues lick fills.
