Description

You can learn licks off of records, teachers and fellow guitar players, but it can also be great to try to come up with your own. In this lesson we'll look at how you approach that!

I hope you've gotten a good idea of how to go about using licks as a basis for improvisation. Always think of licks like sentences. The idea is not to say them the same way every time, but it is very important to know some useful combinations of notes that you can draw from until inspiration comes and carries you away. Otherwise you're just stringing random notes together and it's very likely not going to sound very much like music. Have fun with it!
