It's a fairly straight forward approach here; what we're doing is just emphasizing the down beats with a Cmajor/G chord. The most important thing here is your timing, especially with the string scratching.

This needs to be locked in with guitar 1 so it doesn't sound like two guitar parts - the idea is to create a rhythm of two guitar parts that sound like one big part. This guitar will appear in the intro and the verses with guitar 1.

As I mentioned earlier there is a jammy feel to the whole song, but it's very important to get the parts locked together in this particular situation. And don't forget that we have to pay attention to the vocals for the changes!
