In our first section I'm going to cover the guitar parts played in the first verse. We will be playing some simple eighth note rhythms with a distorted tone that gives the first verse a nice punch. Here are some key points to help you play this beginning section.

Key Points:

1. Coming out of the intro, the first verse starts with a bar of swells with the open Db, Ab, and Db strings. You can use a volume pedal or your volume knob for this.

2. The hits are played on beat 1 of each measure on both the down and up and beat.

3. The progression is 4 bars and is played twice, with the progression being Db, Eb7, Gb, Db.

4. This section focuses around a chromatic melody that is going on in the chords, starting from Ab, to G, Gb, back to Ab.

5. The guitar part is playing simple power chords, focusing on the lower strings.
