Hi, I ask your help in order to riproduce a guitar effect I have heard at the beginning of a song. The track begin with the sound of an accelering motorcycle, which also seems to change gears. I red that this effect is made with the use of the vibrato bar, but I have no ideas how to made it.

Thanks

I know what you are looking for, but I don't know how to explain it, but I will try.

Push the whammy bar down and then strike the low E string. Pull up on the bar to simulate the engine reving up..

Then quickly push the whammy back down, and strike the A string, then pull it back up.......

Keep doing this while making your way up to the higher strings, one at a time. To me, the trick is when you dive the whammy back down to move to the next higher string, give it a quick pull back up, then back down to simulate the engine reving when the clutch is pulled in. This action should be done very quickly. Use your ears.......

I hope this helps...

If you wanna do the trick with the trem bar , use the 12th harmonics on all strings (2 strings only at a time) .
1)Dive the bar
2)Pick the harmonics , say 12th at D & G strings
3)Raise the bar
repeat with other strings.

Or you might wanna try the slide in case you have one , it's easier to explain :
1)Place your slide on the D & G strings , pick , then move a couple of frets higher ... Then slide down fast and repeat to simulate gear changing.
Kirk Hammett did that in S&M version of "Fuel".

here's how to do it:

1. dive the bar down, way down.
2. Pick the D string
3. Raise bar at the rate you want to accelerate.
4. quickly dive bar.
5. Pick the A string
6. Repeat step 3 & 4
7. Pick the low E string.

This is what Mick Mars did on "Kickstart My Heart", and even though he is not near the top of my favorites players list, it does sound like a motorcycle.

My band opened a show for Vince Neil, so I witnessed this first hand.
