I love the big sound of jumbo's. So now its time to get me one. I have my eyes on the Cort NTL20, love it, great feel, heavy, huge sound. But before I go all the way, what else is out there with the same quality and affordable price.

The Cort NTL20 sells for $650-$750(Cdn).

So I am looking at Epiphone, possibly the Godin line(seagull, norman, etc.).

O yes, and they must have a pickup in them already.

I ruled out Fender, I don't find they pay much attention to their acoustics. Plus I have a Fender Acoustic and I didn't plan on buying another acoustic, until I played a NICE acoustic and noticed the sound difference. Plus, I don't find the Dreadnought sound to fit me very well.

Have you tried a bunch of different types of strings on the Fender ?

I have an Alvarez (you might want to look at them) which has 20/20 bronze mediums on it at the moment and sounds great (RD20 I think !). However put phosphobronze strings on it and it sounds dead as fried chicken. The Fender 12 string (a mid 80s dreadnought) sounds very cool with phosphobronz strings and whey too clangey with 20/20 bronze.

Im just really surprised to here you say that 'cos In my experience there acoustics have been great ! However, each to his own ! I prefer the Fender to the Alvarez any day, but then again I also chose a life in science.........

Oh yes the Alvares is the guitar doing the pickin' on that down the mountain song !

What's your budget?

You're a Canuck, so check out Simon & Patrick. I think they're made by Larivee, which would then make it seem that S&P is the "lower"-end line and Larivee the higher end. Although, if you've played an S&P, I wouldn't call them lower-end. Nice tone, just a few things to cut costs (e.g. no 3-band EQ on the pickup).

Yamaha makes some very nice acoustics, in my opinion. They have one (forget which model) where the body is a little bit thinner (measuring from the guitar's top to the back) than a regular acoustic. Very nice finish.... and the tone was very nice plugged in, as well. Not so much acoustically (i.e. unamplified).
... and that's all I have to say about that.
