Hey!

Shouldn't there be any kind of picture or maybe motion to explain correct classic position on g-tricks? As far as I know, the only picture to give you anykind of clue how to sit right is the picture of the dude stocked in the 60's when you click on "Absolute" under the beginner headline.

I recently feelt pain in my back when I played, and I tried play in classic position, but my guitar just slips away, and nothing works.. =(

Anyway, somekind of instruction would be warmed welcomed! Take care and keep working on the best site on the web! ;)

Good idea. I don't know whether it's "too basic" to put on the site, but I shouldn't think so. One of the things you tend to forget about because it's so natural.

If your getting back pains, try sitting straight if your not, leaning forward always strains my back.

I've tried sitting in the classical position while playing guitar, it doesn't really do me any good as it's only good for precise music like classical, if your playing lots of different genres then you usually need to get into the groove.

Besides which I like the fretboard horizontal to me when im playing, not diagonal like in classical, makes it easily to hit the higher frets too.

You'd have to speak to an instructor about adding it to the site, dunno where they would put it though.

a problem could be that ur trying to wrap ur body around the guitar which is causin u to twist ur back which can lead to pain...When you play...take a look at ur feet...the left foot should be further infront than the other one and usually elevated on somthing...Just find a position that makes u comfortable..if you study some of the great masters seating and wrist positions...they tend to be very uncomfortable

Thanks dudes!

ketsueki15: "there is a thing called Google.com...It can work wonders"

Well, I acctually searched but I didn't find any correct info.. Aswell, not only for me, but also for new beginners who maybe are a little bit afraid of asking such "basics" things. I don't know..

Well, I lay my right leg so that the palm of the foot is resting on my left leg's knee.. This is perhaps a horrible situation for the body, and now I really understand that "wrap"-thing.. Ouch..

Thanks guys, again.. =D

I was going to say something around those lines, until I noticed that you had posted, and instantly knew you'd beaten me to it. Oh, well, I was going to say: Missionary, I'm a traditional guy.

The best thing is either to go buy a clasicl guitar book or a get a classical guitar teacher...I have a book that explains it very well but its gets all technical with the angles and all of this other stuff.. Maybe i will write what it says when i get some time

Someone once said something like this: "It always comes back to sex?"

By the way, I prefer the ladies above so I just say: Rodeo! ;)

hmmm errr back to the original question i think haha rodeo ey now that sounds good heehhee.

just change from whatever your sittin on. if ya sittin on somethin too high it will change your posture ditto for if its too low. just try playin whilst sat on somethin different that alwas stopped my back from given me gip.

Ah, that sounds like a really good advice. I've been using the same chair (when i don't stand up playing) for some months and I will try another chair or perhaps a pillow on the seat or whatever. Thanks man!

its not the chair...its YOU...With classical guitar there is a set position for it.. it makes it easier and more confortable..
heres a site that will explain it for you even with pictures.
