I may be a bit retro in my approach, but I don't buy a "bleeding edge design"
anything until it's had a few years to prove itself. I have 9 guitars at the moment, and other than one Odyssey, they're all either Yamaha, or Washburn.
My Yamahas are fairly heavy axes based on Les Pauls.
The Washburns are all quite light and "tossable". There are models to cover just about any style of playing, so I'm sure you could find something to suit your tastes.
