What are you workin on???

Im not really "working" on anything. I'm just learnin soem new songs and things. I'm finsishing Satch Boogie, and Giant Balls of Gold ( Vai ). Me and my bro are still trying t write some new songs... but that's really it....

How bout you guys?

Not much at the moment. I'm waiting for my income tax check to get me some new gear! *muahahaha*

Other than that, just trying to finish learning Tender Surrender...and basically just jamming.

I'm working on some simple descending fingerpicking deal in F#m. I don't have the time to work on anything serious right now.

I'm working on a lot of new and different stuff, because I joined a new band and the members are very.... not into the genres that I"m used to. I'm enjoying it though, learning a lot.
As a song I'm trying to learn Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers... its fun. :)

I've been "putting my money where my mouth is" by accumulating bits and pieces to build a producible version of my WeeBeastie amp.

I'm just just recording a few riffs and soloing over them and trying to work out what scales and stuff to use and what sounds best. It seems to be helping me learn theory as well as having fun playing !

Same as usual for me, solo work and then later on making tunes. I haven't really learned any tunes from other artists note by note for ... 4 years. Is that odd?

....... Which isn't true, I had to learn a bunch of tunes to play a cover band gig last summer.

Trying to master economy picking decently and writing this song for a band we'll hopefully gonna start. Also trying to grasp theoretical parts of all this musical stuff.. thingie.. It's enjoyable though. Haven't gotten around learning stuff (some techniques and theory) so I'm trying to force myself to get a grip and do something about it. I want to learn and I love to play. Been too damn lazy for so long it's time to make a change. Yes, I will learn and get this awesome song (!) "properly" composed as soon as possible.

I will rock, eventually.

Hey, I've been looking for a little (10 watts or so) tube amp. How much is your WeeBeastie? Are there any better alternatives? I'm starting to get a little tired of having my internal organs shift from putting my (only) 45 watt Traynor at 6 on clean :rolleyes:.

Im learning some traditional Irish songs at the minute, got to play a gig for st patricks day next week.

I'm learning some Stan Rogers (Canadian Folk singer) songs right now. Thay are pretty simple songs but make good campfire stuff.

i am currenlty learning Capricho Arabe by tarrega and then im learning some flamenco sounding song that Azreal posted off and on. My main concentration is on Cap. Arabe..Ill try to post an MP3 when ever i can figure out how to record with a classical guitar and when i learn the rest of the song

None of the songs are particularly DIFFICULT. But, the lead playing in them carries on through almost all of the song. Its tough memorizing it (since most of its similiar, with just little differences).

I'm also transcribing the guitar work in the song "Time Will Tell" from Vitalij Kuprij's new album.

You must include "Barrett's Privateers"! And "The Mary Ellen Carter" is one of my favourites.

They were two of the first songs I learned my friend. Barrett's Privateers was my platoon song during my short stint in the army reserves. There's nothing like 40 drunk army guys singing Barrets Privateers in a tiny little bar.

"45 Years" and "The Idiot" are my other favorate songs by Stan. Playing Stan Rogers was actually the reason I wanted to learn the guitar, just to be able to play around the campfire with friends and family.

I just finished doing my solo album, which I have made, so far, around 100 bux on. I sell it for $6. I'm lookin for a website to host a couple of sample songs for free. Any suggestions?

Right now, I want to put a lot more on my host section, so it can be half way decent.

I'm workin on stuff thats pure instrumentals, cuz I like that stuff a lot.

I just finished writing a quintet for tenor sax, alto sax, 2 clarinets and a baritone horn. It turned out very good, which was surprising.

Now I'm also writing a symphony for the "symphonic" band. (which pretty much means my school band)

But first, I gotta buy my first guitar, lol.

It will be awhile before I can answer either of those questions. Well, the first one, anyway - if you can find an old Ampeg G-18 transistor amp, it should cost you less than US $100 (I got mine on eBay for $60), and it sounds great!

The WeeBeastie started out as a 1-channel amp with a single-ended 6AQ5A output tube. Since these tubes are no longer in production, I will have to change over to the 6V6. It's the same tube, in a larger envelope. As I pointed out way back whenever, a small amp costs almost as much to build as a big one. Especially when everything is custom-made one-of. I expect it will come in at under $1000, but more than $500. For a 5 Watt amp. Can you spell boutique?

I'm toying with some ideas for a variable-power amp that will be more appealing in terms of dollars-per-Watt.
