Well, I just tried a thing. I made an intro and some parts, coming from the B locrian mode. Progression (B5, C5, D5 +some more). Then I played some gloomy notes over it.

I matched this, with a F lydian solo. The thing is that is actually worked! The change from locrian to lydian didn't sound bad at all. It's great to see how modes can be used to influence the 'flavor' of a song.

Isn't it great, as long as you're in one special key, you can in different ways change between modes and decide the mood, but the key is still the same. I mean, if you're in C major, using B locrian, you're still in C major right, it's just the tonality that is B locrian. The notes are from C major so...

Hope this is correct. If so, I'm getting more and more into modes. What possibillities!

Congrats, you got the right understanding of modes. Although both B locrian and F lydian have the same notes as C major, you can tell a difference in their flavor. Alot of people don't get that at first, your on the right path.
