Does anyone else ever notice how there will be a splurge of new members, that show up everyday, and post about a billion times, for maybe a month or so, then they just disappear?

Yes, but due to the human encroachment of its natural habitat, it has been forced to adapt and incorporate guitartricks newbies into its otherwise monotnous diet.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

I've been around for long enough (this is my second profile, long story about the first) I'm always wondering why I don't see people like Rasky, Christoph, or PonyOne posting anymore.

I'll still see a PonyOne post every now and again, not so much from the other two. Where lalimacefolle, he used to post all the time.

u know what bothers me even more?
the people who are terrible at guitar and still find it necessary to post a 'riff' in the tricks section
example: rudy "it sounds like Hendrix was jamming"

I definately don't fit in the 300-posts-for-a-month-then-gone-with-the-wind-category,but I also come around here is spasms these days,mainly due to the fact that I finished(OK,I dropped out of)college last year,and internet access in your average kenyan cyber cafe isn't exactly dirt cheap(not for me anyway),so I can't get online as much as I'd like to.And even when I do,I may not post a reply or a new post,just read stuff,so others can't tell that I'm still around,unless I find something's that a bit interesting,or start something interesting myself.

Eh, happens in every forum. EVERY forum.
I moderate a couple forums on http://www.totse.com, we get tons of new users every day... only a small percentage of them actually post anything. Of that small percentage, only a few post more than one post. And of those few only a few continue to post for a long time. And of course.. then you still realize, that of those few users every day who will continue to post.. 99% of them are ****ing morons.
