Do you know any good Ear Train programs that train all the different abilities that you need(Intervals, Rythmn Chords, Scales, Melodies,...) to get a good ear? Because till now I worked with E Master Pro, but now the time limit is over and the prgram doesn´t work any more. And without any good program I can´t get motivated to practice this important skill.

Ya, tune your guitar(or use a piano), know the note your playing. When you strike the note hum until you reach the same frequency. Then try to remember the frequency.

Practica Musica is another good program, it runs for about $100 though, the program on the link I posted is free.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it was Shmange that posted a perfect pitch set of lessons RIGHT HERE ON THIS VERY SITE!!!!!
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

I think the lessons you meant were made by Noticing the mistake, or at least I found 4 very helpful sites to this topic on this page!

Yeah that was me. I had stopped because I never got anything comments or input after. So I didn't think anyone was interested.

I haven´t seen that you have cancelled this because I ´ve just read the first part and I´m also practicing it at the moment. It seems very believable to me that I can recognize notes that way more easily. Although I know that my ear also needs other qualities like hearing rythmn, key, etc, but I´m sure you know that even better.

By the way, I´ve just found a very similar lesson with similar context of a guitar teacher on http://www.cyberfret.com/ear-training/index.php

I shan't pretend to have perfect pitch but I think I have a pretty shrewd idea that a good way to aquire it would involve singing notes because this way the pitch sensation is registered in terms that are set by what your vocal chords can do. For instance I know that the lowest note I can hit is an A on the open 5th string. Perhaps it might help a person pick up tunes if they hum to it, translating the pitches into a sensation which, being felt at different heights in the vocal tract depending on the frequency of the noise might make the task of assesing its pitch easier.
If I couldn't laugh at myself how could I laugh at someone less ridiculous?

The best program I believe for everything you seem to be looking for and more is called EarMaster Pro. You can actually plug your guitar into the mic input and it will give you a rhythm and then rate you on how well you played it. It also starts with easy rhythms and then works up 50 some levels until you are a master. Awesome program which contains alot more than just that: melodic dictation, interval identification, and more. One draw back is it does cost alittle dough, I don't believe it's much but either way it's well worth it. A good free online program to develop absolute pitch is http://www.prolobe.com. A nice software to download is a program called "eartune", I don't know the address but if you search google it should be easy to find. This program is free to use, and actually uses guitar (clean, light dist., heavy dist., even bass) wav. files instead of midi.

Actually U10ajf, that won't get you perfect pitch alone. The problem is that when you hear a note in the physical world, your vocal chords don't feel any kind of sensation. The trick is to get that sensation in your ear rather than vocal chords. Then the ear will start to learn, just like when you were a child you learned the colors with your eyes.
