How do you get a classic Randy Rhoads sound at a great price? How about a Metallica sound? Thanks for any replies.

Yeah man JCM 800 and an old MXR distortion + pedal.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Can you guys help recomend me a 30-65 watt tube amp for getting 80's metal tones ie, maiden, sabbath, megadeth, and also getting a neo-clssical sound in the 600 to 700 price range?

I dont know about the amp.... but to get a Randy tone remember not to scoop the mids....... he had the mids boosted with just a little less treble and lower bass

Hey trooper, check out http://www.rhinoamps.com

They got a killer head in your price range

also check this link if you are looking for a combo. It might be a little too much amp for you though, cause it's 100 watts not 35-60

I've heard of rhino and I was interested in them before I love the soundclips for the black star, but all the reviews on the internet bash these guys for bad service and parts. So I'd rather not take a chance and order one, but if you got any more suggestions I'd appreciate them. By the way a perfect example of the tone I want is Dio's on killing the dragon. Would you recomend the dsl 40 or a peavy xxx super 40 I want tube eaither way, I would also like some effects so I'm looking into those, the pod seems cool, and the digitech gnx 3 is cool because it has an 8 track recorder and a drum machine, but there is also the v-amp which seems good for the money.

If you use some sort of digital effects processor. Try searching google.com for sound patches for it. I have an RP300 from Digitech and found a good Randy Rhoades patch for it. There's tons of them out there, some specific to how the guitarist sounded on a certain song, some just their general sound. Either way, it's definately worth a look.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.
