guitar picks
I have a problem with guitar picks, (besides them falling in my acoustic) they always seem to disappear. In fact I'm down to one .96 mm hard pick, and I hate it. I had a nylon one, but I lost it. I guess this mean I must venture to a guitar store what a "tragedy." Does anyone have a similar problem?

Yeah, I know I've bought hundreds picks in my guitar playing life, and I have about 10 now... it's kind of like how you lose socks...

Yeah...maybe the picks are all in the washing machine...

I don't lose socks. On the other hand, my picks dissapear way faster than I like to admit.

I took an old Altoids container and nailed it to the top of my amp. Then I filled it with picks.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

Well, if I remember correctly, there was also a distinct element of anger at losing hundreds of picks involved. I only jam in one room, and I search that room for picks and never find any.... AAAAAARRRRGHH!!!!!! :Q :@

You know what's really funny? I have a bad habit of losing altoid boxes. Seriously, I've lost like 4 this semester.

i have that theory that about 2 cm above my floor there is some sort of fluctuation in the space-time continuum or something, for i keep losing picks at a SHOCKING rate. within seconds! they drop and SWOOOSHH - they are gone. by the number of picks that i have lost in this 3x3 meter room i should be walking on 10 cm worth of picks - but i have not yet retrieved a single one.

LOL!
Have you tried nailing them to your amp?

I don't actually have an amp, I either use my Dad's amp (who in all irony doesn't play guitar) or the system at my church when I'm home for break.
On the other hand, there are a rediculous number of tone-deaf sh!theaded guitarists in the town I'm from who literally refuse to learn anything new or right. Seriously, the other guitarist at my church tries crap like playing an Asus and Dsus on a song in E just because he likes suspended chords. That makes 4 consecutive semitones in two places on the scale, if my theory is still decent. It doesn't work. Or he'll try crap like trying to do acoustic sim by using a $50 piece of inferior craftsmanship with damaged active pickups and banging away at it as hard as he can in the bridge position so it has more 'presence'.
So, I can't say I've never thought of putting a nail or two through someone's equipment.

I always keep one pick in each of my guitars, and the rest are in a plastic cup.

I believe in iiholly's theory of a pick monster... For some reason when I do find a pick that I lost it has teeth marks on it, and I don't chew on them.... hmmmm....
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Whatever works, which unfortunately I don't think would be either one.

I use to always lose picks. Now i have over 150 and i will never need to buy another pick for years :)
By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

I blame the robots. I don't know why scientists keep making those damn robots anyways. They run off of our guitar picks and old people's medicine.
