Hey guys...

I want your opinions and thoughts about which rack mounted
multi-FX processors are worth getting. I'm ready to pay
around $600 for a used one. I've been thinking about Rocktron's Chameleon2000 and VooduValve, maybe even a Prophesy if the price is right. Digitech's 2120 and
2112 seem promising. What others are there worth checking out? It should have a pre-amp 'cause I can't afford buying one separately. I get good cleans and blues drive from my
Carvin amp but I need a good high gain and quality effects
(delays and reverbs). Soundwise I'm looking something like
Vai or Gambale or Satch and all the likes. It should also
have a good noise gate for direct recording.

So give me your two cents...

Thanks in advance

Jani
Thanks

Have you thought of a Boss GT-6 or a Roland VF1 (basically the same as the GT-6, but in a half-rack)?

However, it seems as if you're wanting something a little more professional... But those two are pretty good units.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

ALL generalizations are WRONG

Thanks, I've been thinking about getting a GT-6 but
I'll have to think through, what I really want and
need.
Thanks

I got a gt 6...love it but you need to know what you want and how to get there or else you get way lost....or for those who like the less control but more simpler methods look to the gnx 2 or 3...they got presets a plenty...
WWSD? What would stevie do?

I play out all the time, and these shredder dudes in the audience come up to see my rig. Sometimes they laugh when I bring my rack and they see the old stuff. However the old stuff I am using was used back in the day by all types of pros. When I am done, they come up to me in great surprise. They love the sound.

Anyway for distortions that sound real from heavy heavy metal to a full slightly dirty blues or R&B sound I use the ADA MP1 with a BBE Sonic Maximizer into a MOsvalve 180 watt power amp. I also run this into a Marshall head.

For beautiful reverbs, delays, flange, chorus, etc I use a 1989 Roland GP16. It has several outputs for stereo, XLR, and multi stereo amp outs and tons of sounds and fx.
You can find all of these crazy cheap.

Thanks for the opinions. I bought myself a used
Rocktron Chameleon 2000 and it seems to be just
what I needed.
Thanks
